2010 Carlisle Pre-Registration PRIZE

I pre-registered 1 car for now. We may add another one later, but not sure yet.

Confirming earlier posts this email received today from Carlisle:
Hey Everyone! Just a quick update, in case you haven’t heard yet: If you pre-register early (see cutoff dates below), we will now mail you your Showfield Sticker!! This means you get to drive straight through Gate 3 to the Showfield and not have to stop out at the Showfield Registration Office.

Stickers will be mailed to the address you registered with approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the show and they will be sent with a letter directing you where to get your Dash Cards and Goody Bags. You will NOT have to go back out to Showfield Registration for cards or bags, they will be located somewhere on grounds – the exact location is TBD.

We’re hoping that this saves you the aggravation of waiting in multiple lines outside the Gate.

Here are all the cutoff dates for all the shows:

Performance & Style – April 5th
Import & Kit – April 19th
All-Ford – May 3rd
All-GM – May 24th
All-Chrysler – June 7th
Truck – July 5th

****If you are not registered prior to these dates, you will still need to stop at Showfield Registration****

Now... and this is IMPORTANT! If you already pre-registered and they did not yet have the drop down menu to select your class you can call customer services at 717-243-7855 and tell them you pre-registered and want to add the class so you can have your documents mailed to you.

Thanks Leo.. That's what I needed!

True, but like I've always said, it's a matter of preregistered vehicles.

My first year at Carlisle, there were maybe four Mark VIIs and we were in the OTHER Lincolns class  We raised the participation and got our own class. We raised the participation and got a stock and modified class. We've got some surprises showing up this year that (I sincerely hope) will give us a THIRD class in a year or two.

PRE REGISTRATION is so crucial!!!

I thought we were told last year that they were going to look at all registrations, though . . .

Pre-Registration And Placement.

Pre-Registration And Placement.

Hi Rene,

That's true for placement. It's actually a double edged sword.

Let's say that there are only 30 preregistered Lincolns with possibly another 3 to 5 gate registered on Saturday. The Staff would have to make accommodations for only 35 Lincolns. We then could be squeezed in with say another class like Mavericks or worse, split with Lincolns Of Distinction and The Lincoln Mark VII Club in different rows.

Let's say that there are 60 preregistered Lincolns with possibly another 10 or 15 gate registered on Saturday. The Staff would have to make accommodations for up to 75 Lincolns. Some of the lanes on the midway cannot accommodate more than 60 vehicles so ... we (the Lincoln Community) could wind up back on the hill in an area that can accommodate say 60 - 100 vehicles.

There are so many parameters involved that no one but Carlisle Staff can say where our two Clubs will be until the very last preregistration is counted. Valerie and Rick and their staff then have to play "put the puzzle together" for the next two weeks.

Is it possible to have MK7s and MK8s facing each other across a lane? Would they do that?

BTW, is there a discount for registering with a club affiliation? If not what are the benefits to the club?

It's likely we will have 1-1/2 "lanes" - depending how they lay it out, the MK7s and MK8s may be facing each other across a lane with the "other" Lincolns taking up another half lane.

The HUGE benefit for registering with the club is the cost of the tent is waived with 25 or more PRE-REGISTRANTS! That saves us money for more important things...

like refreshments. :D

Too true.

Back in 2007, our two Clubs had so many preregistrations that we were put back to back and shared a large tent and had an exclusive Lincoln area that could hold about 100 cars!

<wait for the double edged blade>

Down side is that we were placed 50 yards south of the campers and 100 yards south of a creek and about 200 yards North of the Midway; the CENTER OF THE ACTION! there was a five minute SHUTTLE RIDE from our position to the grand stand!

The formula for placement has far too many variables involved to speculate placement right now. In the last two years, we've had just enough numbers (and Club participation and enthusiasm) that we got PREMIUM positions! If LOD were any closer to the center of the action, they'd have to wear Ford Employee badges and sell FORD t-shirts :)

Preregister and list LOD as your Club affiliation!
Don't put it off!
Do it now!

Does anyone know how many have pre-registered so far? When I asked last month, they said only 6 so far.

Well, the token Canadians are now registered, and looking forward to some partying with you folks again.

See you there!

But I'm the one brings most of the "refreshments"... :D

Excellent! :D

True, true... unfortunately, I'm not old enough to provide "refreshments," but I still felt like a mooch last year cause I didn't know how much of a party it was going to be. This year, I'll at least bring a crapload of food.

Anybody need cigarettes? I think Virginia is still just about the cheapest in the nation with Marlboro's sitting right around $40 a carton right now. Unfortunately, I can't donate cartons, though. hahaha that would get a little too expensive, a little too quick!

I finally registered. last day for the gate and go. I registered the vert, so done or not its coming with me.

I also realized we never made hotel reservations. whoops. guess we will drive like 10 miles. oh well.

Wow.
Here in Pennsylvania, I'm ~lucky~ to get a carton of Tareyton 100s for $60.00

Ten miles?!? grrr! You could drive home for lunch :)
I'm doing four nights at The Sleep Inn plus kennel costs for the puppy.
I'm gonna have fun either way.

I received information today the Lincoln count to date is up to 45, with 14 registered with the Lincolns of Distinction.

We're being outnumbered 2 to 1.

We can do better than that, people! Come on! You have a chance of winning a free room for two nights! :)

Get in the game!!! :D
