ok so here goes, i recently bought another m8, it's a 97 model with blown engine i thought it was a steal at 300 dollars and the guy aid to have it towed to my house. the car is in excellent shape and i have prety big plans for it. i have a friend who recently totaled his 00 navi in the rear(thanks to an old lady on a cell phone) i'm buying it for 1000. now i want to take the 5.4L dohc out of the navi and put it in the new mark, I would like to know if anybody has experience with this as i will be sc the motor as well. will the tranny bolt up (i plan on a complete overhaul of the trans with all highperformance parts) and does anyone know of anyone that can make a chip I can buy for this setup, i'm not new to larger dislplacement swaps but am new to the modular swaps. any advise will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hmm good question...

I think I only know of 1 mark VIII with the 5.4 DOHC. Main issue is the height. It will probably no clear the stock hood.

Transmission should bolt up since it is a 4R70W. But I have no idea about the plethora of other things like engine mounts, oil filter location, the steering shaft relocation, the exhaust headers etc. They all may be an issue.

first attempt. we got the 4.6 motor out today pretty much clear the engine comartment. at did a test fit on the 5.4 (just set it down in the car) from the looks of it this motor will bolt up pretty easy but i need a different k-member do you know where i could contact the person that has done this swap successfully, the guy that is helping me said that we are in for a long ride. it would be nice if i could get some pointers on what exactly to expect though

Is Unity's Aviator the 5.4? I don't think it is, but he might be a good person to talk to about the mods.

The aviator engine is a 4.6DOHC.

Ok about the k member question... this was done probably 8+ years ago now... I have no idea if the car still exists. Geno at LMS (lincolnmotorsport) should have some kind of idea.

I know there were a few ppl that ran a custom tubular K member, but with our own 4.6 DOHC.

vkeesler ....IS THE MAN !!!

I thought the old motor mounts would work . Why not get the rubber peices made of metal and trim it down to lower the engine , and get a lntake off of the FORD FALCONS from down under ? Team Ford in Nevada can help .
