Hello all!

I could get some very nice rims which I would love to get on my Mark...they are 16" rims, 7.5" wide...problem is the offset. They are only available in 60mm or 65mm, where 34mm is what I guess we have on our cars. Anyone any info if it can be done???

Those rims will be 1" - 1.25" CLOSER on the inside than stock. Besides likely rubbing on the suspension somewhere, the bearing load will be WAY off center.

Thanks guys, that was exactly what I wanted to know...maybe not what I wanted to hear, but to know...LOL!
Had to get the relationship between greater offset and what direction the center moves straight :)

So, I guess on to find something else...:)

I tried to tell you over coffee those Beemer rims would not work...=) Damn Germans! =0

Check out www.giovannawheels.com ..they have a 5 spoke that turns in just like the Breytons you will probably like. Go with 18s all the way!

Cars that have the same bolt pattern include:

95-02 Lincoln Continental (+38 offset)
Lincoln LS (+60 offset, won't work)
Jaguar S and X Type (+60 offset, stock wheels won't work)
02-03 Thunderbird (+60 offset)
89-97 Ford Thuderbird (MN12 same as Mark)
89-97 Mercury Cougar (MN12)
Ford Taurus (incl SHO)
Mercury Sable
Volvo S60/80
Maybe some other Volvos, too.

I know you said that, but like you mentioned, being German I also have the big head of one and gotta find out :p

And, they are not Beemer-Rims...would never put something from a beemer on my wonderful Mark :) They are actaully either Volvo or Renault, which use our bolt pattern on some of their cars ;-)

funny you mentioned Giovanna wheels. I saw a 94 Mk8 the other day for sale with the Barletta wheel on it. I thought it woulda looked better if the car wasn't in such bad shape.
