'98 Mark 8 headlights

I have just purchased a '98 Mark 8 with the driver's side low beam missing. From what I read this must be the high dollar part Ford no longer makes. What do I need to replace this assembly? The box attached to the housing is missing also. I'm thinking this is the ballast? I have a '93 but the lights are different and my manual does not cover the gen 2.
Dave.

You can get ballasts and lamp assemblies on ebay. I'm pretty sure you can get the same new from Ford. Try Max at Five Star Ford.

Ford has obtained a new stock of bulbs. How long they will last is anyones guess. Get em while they are hot.

Thanks guys. No luck so far, Max is due back from vacation this week. The ballasts are on the car. It's the low beam light that I need. I think the aiming device is in tact also. Has anyone tried using the gen 1 bulbs without the ballast on the gen 2 cars? The HID deal sounds like a money pit. $200 for one bulb is unreal!!!!!!

Especially since HIR bulbs at $55 a pair give you 75% of the output of HIDs. (per GE's website)
