Now the thread is locked. The moderators say it is "mostly a Mark 7 website".


When I asked where the mark VIII owners can post, I was told

"Noone said the Mk8s arent welcome,just that its mostly Mk7s on here so they need not worry about a mod meant mostly for Mk8s and other mod motored Fords.Im sure if I went to LOD board which is mostly MK8s and started something similiar refering to aods the same would happen,in fact I know it would..and Im sorry but this is not a tech question so i must lock it down..It had nothing to do with your part just what followed."

At least they realize, I didnt start the war... but I sure ended it!

LOD has a whole conference of Mark VII forums. They just don't get used much.

Mark 7 guys, Those cars are dogs, it takes minutes to get to 80 miles an hour. anyone who says they are fast needs a good smacking.

My buddy had a Mark VII with an exhaust, mass air intake and a couple other little things and when I raced him at the track, I think he only ran a 16.3. There are some fast ones, but they have a lot done to 'em. Our cars are the same. We need to do at least a few mods to even be low 14's.

Long live the Mark VIII the only fast lincoln besides the LS but i will share the spotlight.

Along with the variety of others things he had done.
But in order for him to reach 11.37, he also replaced the motor to a 331 ci short-block built by D.S.S.

I don't know if we are talking stock Mark VII to a stock Mark VIII, because that would be a stupid question. With the Kenne Bell and larger motor in the Mark VIII we would be around the same times if not better.

Takes money to have a fast car.....

I met with a bunch of Mark VII guys last Sunday. They're Lincoln Lovers as much as we are. Big Ant was there. He's got a Mark VII that runs in the 11's. Karl was driving his beautiful green 92 LSC. If we want our club to grow we need to be more tolerant.

I agree JC, but if FVC wants their Lincoln community to grow, THEY need to be more tolerant!

I appreciate the Mark 7. Believe it or not, it was one of the main influences on the Mark VIII. They are apples and oranges, but the Mark 7 helped pave the way for the VIII. Unfortunately, many of the FVC members chose to ignore the VIII, living in the fantasy world that push-rod motors are still the shiznit.

There are plenty of 7's out there that can run, but for the most part, the 7 "is" what "was"... make room 7, VIII is comin home, and with a vengence.

I can’t believe I overslept that day, man, I try to organize meets, and I over sleep them! Great, what’s next? Invite the guys over and sleep while they knock on the door? lol.

It just got very depressing after it rained for the second time of our meet day. 2 different sunday's, weeks apart, and it only rained on those 2 sunday's in that 4 week period.

I don't hate them but come on, I had one, There was nothing special about em but it did sound cool. Of course you can make anything fast with money, but Im comparing Motor to motor Mod to Mod, Im sure that if I had a supercharger and some gears and bolt ons, maybe some cams I would be running 11s, tranny would explode but 11s

I went to that link to see what the catfight was about and only got to read three posts. All the good stuff was blocked, damn!

Anyways that is some stupid crap to be fighting about, VIII trans vs. VII trans, give me a break!

When my friend and I play billiard he hits the balls pretty hard and I tell him with a "smart ass tone" in my voice.
"Dude, hit the ball hard enough and something is bound to go in"
Same thing with cars, enough money = speed, I saw a raised ford diesel (98-02) run low 11's.

You know what guys? A lot of Mark VII guys visit here. They also come to several of our meets in tampa. Great group of guy's who are true motor heads. The more we trash them and their cars, the more they look at us like a bunch of ricer loud mouths. I am not trying to tell anybody what to say or do, just make them aware than when we trash them we are alienating a great group of guys who are a part of this board.

Never meant to say anything bad about the people in general and their cars. Just prooving a point. I wouldn't mind having a Mark VII for a sleeper. They are great rides. I mean of course its great, it's a LINCOLN.
