ABS/Traction Control issue

I moved this thread to here as it makes more sense now that I know what the problem is.

So as mentioned I took my 98 Mark 8 into the shop to find out what was making a grinding noise in the front of my car, and why i could feel the break pedal vibrating and sinking in. Well I took it to my mechanic, good guy but unfortunately he had no idea what was wrong so he and I agreed to put new calipers and pads on. I wanted new ones anyway.

Well went out to pick it up and you guessed it, the problem was still there. I turned back in the shop, took the owner out with me for a ride, and after he heard the car and felt the tugging from when I put on the breaks. So, when we came back the ABS light came on and the dash computer said, Check Traction Control.

In a word, HELP!!!

All I can think of now is that this is going to get really expensive. I have already shelled out 500 bucks for something that didnt fix the problem, so any incite would be great.

Thanks all
