Air Suspension Problem while fully loaded

Eddie came out with a new generation to fully protect against any moisture going into the system as well as providing for venting external to the compressor. His unit also has a pressure gage and schraeder valve attched so that you can use your compressor to pump up a tire or toys as well as the ability to refill your system in the event of a compressor failure. He has drainable sight bowls as well as supplying all the requied tubing and connections. I have his 1st generation spider valves on my cars and I know it helped one compressor that was acting like yours (Noisy due to rusting from the inside) last another 4 years. Note you also get an extra warranty when you buy the packadge. I'm sold on them incase you couln't tell. Here is pic that shows how I have schraeder valve mounted for what ever I need.

I'm assuming that is the schrader valve that allows you to put in outside air in the event of a system failure or allows you to use it to air up a tire if need be.

I have the first generation spider valve like the one in the pic above.

So far it's helped my "assembled from broken compressors" frankenstiened unit last for 200K miles.

I shudder to think how long a "new" compressor would last when hooked to a spider valve!

I wish Eddie would begin making the first gen spider valves again, they were only 100.00 and were worth their weight in gold.. IMHO.

Mindy, that sounds like the rear valves that open your rear airbags (you should hear a slight snapping noise). So the front is fine but when the back tries to pump but the rear valves didnt open. Causing your compressor to overwork and is probably dragging your alternator down and making the engine do that. Check your rear valves, replace them - cheap and easy. Or just listen for the snapping sound. I dont think they are snapping, might be unplugged, clogged or loose.

That sounds pretty feasible. I'm guessing I should be able to start the car and listen at the rear wheels for the snapping you are referring to?

Are the valves the same as the solenoids? I see the re-seal kit on American Air Suspension but I bet those wouldn't fix the problem if that was what is wrong, I would have to go for whole new solenoids?

Thanks!

The solenoids are all the same, front & rear. The reseal kits are about the o rings that get replaced when you disconnect the air lines from the solenoids, there are tiny little rings down in the unit you need to replace as they get dried out and don't reseal, and same goes for the out side o ring that goes on the solenoid to provide the seal when it's twisted into the Air Spring reciever hole. Very seldon do the solenoids need replacing. If you can hear them clicking then they are working.
