So I posted my mint (for a 96) rust free Mark VIII on Craigslist a couple of days ago. It has a clear title and only 108K. Suspension has been converted to conventional from air, new Kumhos all around, belts, RF control arm, battery all recent. It needs a LF control arm and a A/C blower, which I can replace myself and parts are about $120. Shiny paint, nice exterior with a couple blemishes, interior still smells like leather and not one rip in the seats, also a couple blemishes like driver door panel and bad power mirror wiring. Overall, the car is a solid 7 (if not 7.5) out of 10.

I listed it for 2800, and have already got about 40 emails, about half are scams, but the other half are legit with local phone numbers. The first guy I showed it to offered 2000 before he even saw or drove it, and once he did, he went up to 2300 (haggling, if I was asking 3500, he would have offered more, I'm sure).

I just read a thread on here, a guy with a 98 with 102K is talking about insuring his for about 8000. So... hypothetically, if I could insure mine for even 6000 and drive it into a tree, why would I sell it for 2800 instead?

Of course, key word there is hypothetically, but I am thinking of jacking the price up at least another 1000, or maybe even keeping the car to fix and drive 2-3 times a week to keep the miles down on my new Lexus. I have had the Mark just under a year and drove it daily. I really like driving it so before I pretty much give it away for 2800 and then feel stupid, I am now seriously considering just keeping it, replacing the control arm and A/C blower, and throwing some 20s on it.

What do you guys think?
