Annual Car Show

We went to the annual car show that I go to every year. Did not take any car to "show" ~ Just wanted to walk around and enjoy it, and leave when we wanted to, rather than stay until 4PM (Toooo Hot!). Really a great bunch of people & cars. So many (121) an so many great examples! Of interest here was a 1978 Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee Blue Edition, as new, flawless. That was the only Lincoln, there were many Mercurys. Came home very tired. Show started at 9:00AM and is over at 4:00PM. We were there 9:30 until 1:30. Feet hurt, hot as heck. My favorite there was a 1964 Avanti R3 signed under hood by Andy Granitelli in Fawn gold that was showroom perfect, and a 1976 Coupe deVille with documented 1,800 miles, with every option, and a 2004 Lotus V-8 Esprit. My breakfast was Italian Ices & Pizza! The D.J. was braodcasting live to some station I didn't get & he was really great, if you like R&R from the 50s !!
There's another great show next Sunday, but I can't go 'cause Matt's girlfriend is coming here, and I have to play host......yada yada yada... sis bang boom.....Pity, it's in my hometown :(

RE: Annual Car Show

That sounds like fun. I go to car shows around here. You meet other car people and see some really interesting vehicles. My favorite is the Hot Rod show. No cars newer than 49 and most are beautiful with a lot of interesting and creative modifications. I also go to other shows. Recently I've been to bike and antique tractor shows. The bike show was great. There were hundreds of fat middle aged guys and their fat middle aged lady friends dressed in tight black leather. LOL! It looked like a combination of Overeaters Anonymous and a S&M convention. LOL!

RE: Annual Car Show

JC, you mighta liked the 1951 Mercury that was at the show. Chopped & Channeled, frenched antenna base, lowered to the ground, lakes pipes, foxcroft skirts, fuzzy dice, dice tranny shifter knob, rolled/pleated maroon & white striped leather, shag carpet in maroon, "Moon" hubcaps, continential kit, dummy teardrop spotlights, and 15 coats hand rubbed lacquer in candy apple red.

Also a 1956 DeSoto Fireflite "Sportsman" (4-Dr Hardtop) Baby blue/White 2-tone, factory record player & fact. AIR COND, all working!! Stuffed doll behind the wheel was Groucho Marx with a cigar. Car was as new! Was a 31,300 dollar restoration.

Also alot of 57 Bel Airs, 1 rag top & 3 coupes. All trophy awarded.
A 1956 T-Bird and a really nice 1962 Pontiac Gr. Prix (1st year). Was too much to see. I wanted to take my McLaren Coupe, but was talked outta it. This Sunday is another. I am gonna try to sneak away & go. Or.....I could torture 3 people and take my wife, son & his girl.
Horiffic Torture, 4 - sure xo
