Antenna woes...

So the other day, when I was driving my car away from the dealership, right after I had bought it... I go to turn the radio on. Well, coming from the right rear I hear this lovely grinding sound. I thought there was a wiring problem going to the speaker, untill yesterday. I was driving, tried the radio just with hope again, and looked back, low and behold I caught the raising antenna in the ACT. Right as it reached to full extent of its height, the sound started. So apparently the motor doesn't know when to stop the antenna's movement.

So... new motorrrrr.... can I adjust somethingggggg..... What if I just want to disable the motor, I can still pick stuff up....

Thoughts?

Thanks,
~Kevin

RE: Antenna woes...

Mine only goes up half way and I lose a bit of reception. The motor is really easy to swap out, it's right behind the carpet. I beleive they are around $50, but don't quote me on that.

RE: Antenna woes...

Turn the radio on,go to the back of the car and as the antenna reaches full extension you will hear that grinding noise, turn the mast until you dont hear that noise.
Thats how I got the noise to stop but my antenna doesnt go down or up now.
It doesnt bother me that it is always up because I've always had fixed antennas.
BTW if you want the antenna down just turn off the radio and twist the mast and it will retract.
I will fix this but it isnt on my priority list.
