Anyone here have a tv in their car.

I'm putting one in next week and I'll either mount it on the dash or behind the sunvisor. If it goes behind the sunvisor is there a way to pop off the seal between the window and the door to run wiring?

I can't freaking wait!@!!}(

I'll finally be able to play mp3's in my car, as well as movies, and that will be just fine with me.

There are a ton of LCD sun visor screens for sale on e-bay. Maybe this would be a great use for the new [link:store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/71908/wo/YB488xLWcuZ42oFNX1S21TPd1ef/0.0.11.1.0.6.21.1.0.1.0.0.0.1.0|Mac mini] .http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/2041...members.tccoa.com/lastmrk/Images/lastmark.jpg

I had a hand-assembled lexan case computer in the glove box for a while - power management is a complete pita. It was hooked up to a 7" screen that wasnt mounted on anything. I only had it in there for 2 long car trips for the passenger. Rather than the mini mac get a dvd/screen setup that is designed for automotive use, it's so much easier. check out this website for more info on stuff like that http://www.mp3car.com/

I have already bought the screen. I'm thinking of putting it right in front of the shifter with a couple of mounts. Shouldn't be very hard at all to mount it there. Then, with it in that possition, the wires can go right around directly into the dash either through the cigareette lighter or through a drilled hole in the dash (behind the screen) I can then hook it up to my display which has an aux connection and control it from there. With the other aux connector I'll plug in my playstation and use it to store 80 gig's of movies and mp3's. All should be able to be controlled by the dash but that's not a definite. I might have to mount the ps2 under the glove compartment. Still it won't look too bad.

Sounds awesome, and in answer to your original question, yes the a-pillar plastic comes off easily and you can run wires.

i had a 36" tv mounted in my trunk till i got home and set it up in my room.

hahaha. in that case, I had a 32" plasma in the rear seat. :7 Had to put the seat cushion on the floor and take my dome light off to fit that one in.

RE: Anyone here have a tv in their car.

It will be depth rather than height that will limit you, but anything can be made to fit in that space if you have the patience. The AC controls cant drop without looking really crummy, but you can cut above the normal d-din slot all the way up to the plastic piece that houses the message center controls.
Good luck and give us some pics when you're done

RE: Anyone here have a tv in their car.

my plans when i had my mark were to move the ac controls and mount a dvd playing head unit in its place and flush mount a 7" screen in the double din area.
