RE: Arrived & see there is a class change!
Being that I help organize a classic car show every year(not near the volume as Carlisle, only 600 cars), one thing that we always struggle to do every year is GUESS how many cars will show up that weren;t "pre-registered".
we base the car classes the following year on what was in attendance the year before. For example, last year we did not have a separate MOPAR class because the prior year not many showed up. Well, last year about 12 Mopars showed up the day of the show and they had to be put in the "non-specific 60-76" classes(stock or modified, respectively)...many of them complained because they were being judged against the likes of 63 split window Vette's, and many other "more popular" cars. So, this year, we created a specific class just for the Mopars in anticipation of the turn out...well, only 3 pre-registered...if only a couple show up the day of the show, there really isnt any honor for the top 3 winners if only 5 showed up, ya know?
so,...pre registering IS very important for a car show commitee to help guage not only the amount of cars they KNOW will be there, plus it helps them decide NEXT YEAR what to do..in this year's case, they probably didnt have the turn out they expected, so they put you all together.
let THIS YEAR serve as NEXT YEAR'S example folks....
planning on bringing a sweet ride next year? PRE-REGISTER!!!
sorry you folks have to now be grouped all together. many of you have the passion, but some of you invest a lot of time in to the details, and showmanship of your rides to help earn the hardware(trophies/bragging rights).
now it looks like Jeremi's modified gen 2 will have to compete with his old 95 that also has an extensive list of mods.
Plus, now all you pristine Gen 1 owners will have to go up against....MOOSE!!!
just remember folks...it's only a show...go for the company, the atmosphere, the experience, and try to have a good time. win or place second, or even third, you're all winners in my book...because you went to the show.
PICS!
