ART long tube headers

Dan called and said my headers were ready for the Jet Hot coating. He also said he made 5 sets this time. I'm going to eliminate the rag joint to give more room but he said it wasn't necessary. He trial fitted a set on one of his Marks so it should work out fine. I'm going to use a reflective insulation on the trans lines near the headers. Hopefully that will be adequate. I'm looking forward to taking it to the track! Cooler weather is just getting here so it'll be racing season soon. Temps at night are in the mid 60's now.

RE: ART long tube headers

I'm eliminating the cats and already have Dans 2.5 inch dual exhaust with x-pipe. I hope to break into the 13's. The next step will be a ported Cobra intake.

RE: ART long tube headers

if you get a good day like you had on that 14.1 run then you will be in the 13's no sweat. Not many gen 2's out there that fast!! Hopefully you can get in and around the 99mph area.

Will you have the headers on in time to run this year before the track closes? Do they keep the track open all year round down there?

RE: ART long tube headers

The tracks down here are available year round but times suffer in the heat of summer. Our highest temp this year was 94 with high humidity. Moe, Matthew and I are going to test & tune soon.

RE: ART long tube headers

they do close in the winter at some point. that is mainly becuase the do constuction to fix the track then. that is at maroso but at bradonton i dont know. it does not ever get snow or ice around here so that is not really a concern. in the summer the track does get wet ever day from rain.

I got a 100 mph pass under my belt in my gen 2, but i'm nowhere near 14.1 (try a 14.7 best). But i have a torque converter and long tubes in my garage (one of the tubes on the drivers side has a nasty kink though, that is probably going to get taken care of by PF&E before they go on). 4.10's are on their way either this weekend or next. I ordered the MMC DS from Dennis today, and i've been trying to get ahold of Dan (ahem) to order some poly diff bushings. So i damn well better be in the 13's next summer, and i better be running at least 105!

RE: ART long tube headers

Leave him a message, He'll call you back asap. But the bushings should be on the unit you're getting, Dave.

The only thing you listed to increase your MPH was the headers, and they wont give you 5. You should def. be in the 13's though.

RE: ART long tube headers

We'll see. I plan on porting that intake too. Don't know if that'll get me there, but we'll see.

RE: ART long tube headers

Dan, do we need to upgrade the steering knuckle ? or do you sell one with your LTs ?
