I am going to the test and tune this Saturday (9am-5pm), to see what the Mark can do now that Aric has sorted out the transmission shifting. Probably will make 3 passes or so, and then hit the outlet mall since Wendy is coming along to take some pictures and maybe a video or two. :)

Cloudy and a 20% chance of rain, with a high around 50 is the forecast for Saturday. Post up if you will be there, and I will keep an eye out for you. :)

Let it rip Mike!

Let it rip Mike!

And i dont mean rest in pieces, haha I just got back last month my new 96 1st gen black on black LSC to replace the blue one i bought back for parts. Got the new front hub assemblies already put on the new one. It doesent even have tint on it, all bare bones factory stock. I did manage to escape the snow up there and drove all way back down here on dry roads with snow on either side of me. Flew in, and drove out...

Get some pics! We wanna see the updates under the hood.

haha Yeah, I know,

haha Yeah, I know,

I would of loved to get her from Arizona or one of the dry climate zones, but got a deal I couldnt say no to, made it worth it for a turn and burn mission of 17 hours drive. haha
Besides, all the Marks here in FL are taken or are nabbed up quick.

Anyone that wants a nice white/ivory 2nd gen ill post in another thread, I dont wanna hijack Mikes Atlanta run invite thread, but he should be hard at work now anyways shredding tires at the track while the rest of us are at home bench racing. hehe
Were comming for you Mikey.......hahhah Some psyc ops war fare there. You'll never know when well strike.
Cant wait to get up there again and hang with you guys in Atlanta again, but I gotta lotta work to do before then and transplanting.

Had fun today, and most importantly, I did not break anything :) I could not get the car to hook today, and the car was shifting like it did not know what gear it needed to be in. Aric said it would do it if it did not hook, and he was right.

I made three passes - a 12.5, 12.4, and a 12.8. Turn the volume up on the video and you can hear the shifts. Wendy and I ended the day going to Sonny's for some BBQ, then to the outlet mall for some shopping. :)

1-2 sucked big time, but that didn't stop the Mark from looking it's best. Envy is all I got for you on this cold February day ;)

Thanks Guys. :) I agree Jeremi, lol the 1-2 is more like 1-2-1-2, or a 1-2-3-2 :)

lol Joe, yes, the same Sonny's - surprised I have not been banned from them yet... since every time I go there, I'm with a rowdy bunch of Lincoln owners...

Nice runs besides all the drama Mike! :)

You may not have broke anything but for the life of me I can't imagine continuing to run the car with traction issues like that without inviting trouble.

But yeah, I envy you too. But for different reasons than most... :D

Sad picture, JP . . . you need to build yourself a Lincoln warehouse for all your hardware!

Niiice....

1-2 shift sounds painfull on the innards when it looses traction, overevs and kicks down back into 1st gear over again. Whats the shift ceiling on 1st gear?

Miss hearing that sound. I couldnt load all your other videos on the laptop card, but now im back on cable with the big tower computer hooked up so i can go back and check out everyones past vids and large picture posts i have been missing.

Mike, that thing sounds stout as hell. Need some tubbed fat slicks, looks like it wants to pull the front up if it had traction. Those runs were with the front stabilizer bar still attached or diconnected? Lookin good man!

Thanks, Jeff. :) The car shifts at 7150 rpm. I found out that Aric rolls into the throttle and feathers it, while I stab the throttle and keep it matted. He said that he needs to data log it at the track while using my technique to tune the thing further.

So, when Aric is headed to the track again, it will probably be the last time I will go to the track other than for SSHS, and maybe some bigger events. I know what the car can do now, so there will be less T&T from now on.

lol No slicks or anything like that for me at the moment. I am done with the car, as far as go fast stuff goes. Nope, I do not disconnect the stabilizer bar, or empty out the car for that matter. I race with a full tank of fuel, and a spare tire, floor jack, tools, cooler, and assorted junk in the trunk. Usually tip the scales around 4100 pounds in race trim with me in the car.

Good luck with your new Mark. Hope the parts transfer is going smoothly! :)
