Auburn Cord Museum

Rene

Lincoln Lady
Brad and I got to go somewhere cool today, during our (holiday) time off work. We went to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana. We've gone to the auctions for many years, but never to the museum! Boy, do I have some cool pictures!

Come on Rene, you can't just post one photo from that museum.:)

I've been wanting to go to that museum for years now. I wanted to plan a color tour down there this fall, but I had to go to Buffalo for 5 weeks instead.

We should plan a meet there this spring or summer. It's located sort of centrally to a lot of members.

More photos please?:D

This one was on a turning display in a corner. All are displayed in the original showroom, restored to how it looked when the cars were actually sold there.

This one is an incredible reproduction of a one-off showcar, the Cord Cabin Speedster. It was built on an original Cord chassis. Most of the cars in the museum are 1 of 1 handbuilt cars!

This one is a two-seat Imp; the passenger sits behind the driver. It was built in 1913 and 1914 only.

They have one Lincoln on display, and it was owned by a wealthy family that went to Florida for the winters. The family had the car shipped to Florida with them each winter, so they could drive it there! They also have a Marmon Sixteen on display.

That is my favorite car right there. Well.... it's my favorite front wheel drive car.:)

I want one with the available supercharger (yes, it was available back then) :)

They put it in a corner? WTH?:D

The Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs, were some of the best American Automobiles ever built.

That Duzy would indeed make a great wallpaper.

The next time you have some time, could you please send me some full resolution photos? I still enjoy the photos from the auction.

Oh yeah, any Auburn photos?:D

Well, Bill . . .

I cropped and resized, but just couldn't end up with a nice Auburn picture to post here. I wanted to have the whole car in there for ya.

I sent a couple of a really pretty Auburn Speedster to you, among others . . . you may wanna burp your email now! :err-what?:

The photos are great Rene! They're in my AuDuCord folder with the other ones now.

Thanks again.

Sorry I missed them yesterday, but I'm way behind on my reading. I didn't even get to my home email yesterday. I think it got full.:D
