Brad and I got to go somewhere cool today, during our (holiday) time off work. We went to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana. We've gone to the auctions for many years, but never to the museum! Boy, do I have some cool pictures!
Come on Rene, you can't just post one photo from that museum.
I've been wanting to go to that museum for years now. I wanted to plan a color tour down there this fall, but I had to go to Buffalo for 5 weeks instead.
We should plan a meet there this spring or summer. It's located sort of centrally to a lot of members.
This one was on a turning display in a corner. All are displayed in the original showroom, restored to how it looked when the cars were actually sold there.
This one is an incredible reproduction of a one-off showcar, the Cord Cabin Speedster. It was built on an original Cord chassis. Most of the cars in the museum are 1 of 1 handbuilt cars!
This one is a two-seat Imp; the passenger sits behind the driver. It was built in 1913 and 1914 only.
They have one Lincoln on display, and it was owned by a wealthy family that went to Florida for the winters. The family had the car shipped to Florida with them each winter, so they could drive it there! They also have a Marmon Sixteen on display.
