Avatar problem

can someone give me the format to post an avatar off the club web space ..I have tried "ftp://nameassword@ftp.mark8.org/blank.gif" ..
the space for URL does not accept "/" ..I also tried "jpg"
I post my signature off the club web space ,,,am I going out of my head..

you don't enter the URL like that, it is in the form of:

http://mark8.org/users/Topcat/
