Barrett-Jackson Auction

RE: Barrett-Jackson Auction

Ya, thanks. I got it on my own ascMcLaren board, like 1:00AM last night. Sold for $14,600, paintwork was dull from too many mechanical car washes, had hole drilled into rear driver side fender for phone antenna and a pair of hidious GTZ black-out headlight covers. Mileage was 11,000. No Reserve, with 8% to the house it cost the buyer $15,750.00. It was the next-to-last one of the 65 made for 1990. The LAST one is in my garage with 2,033 on it. An '89 (1 of 247) sold last week at a private sale for $21,212.00. Go Figure! It had 8,050 on it and was "ReSale Red"

RE: Barrett-Jackson Auction

I definitely cringed at some of the prices the cars brought. I mean, I LOVE cars, but to pay over $100k for something like a '69 Camaro or '58 Impala or other muscle car of similar vintage? Sheesh. You've really gotta be a diehard car nut (with deep pockets) to run with that crowd. I guess most people have a LOT more disposable income than I do... Even if I HAD the money, I don't know if I could justify those prices. Yowza. I cringe when I see a '66 Tbird convertible for like $28k, though I'd LOVE to have one. Will just have to keep buying those lotto tickets... so someone ELSE can buy their dream car!
