BBK Headers

Has anyone used the BBk 15320 headers (96-98 Cobra) on a MK8? I can get a pair for a good price if I don't burn all the savings on moding them to fit. Any help welcomed . Thanks Larry

As far as i know, the EGR fitting will not fit directly, and ther will be a problem with steering shaft (not enough room).

You'd definitely be doing some serious modifying. I've seen a set of Mustang longtubes used before on a Mark VIII and it wasn't very pretty when it was all said and done.

Honestly....you can't "save money" with these cars...you need to buy specifically fit parts. :D

I'm convinced. I'll be using the Kooks SS 3" collector size, if they will fit. Bill does not have them in stock. I'll call him this week. Guess I 'll call Doug to see if he has the steering joints on hand. The Shark comes out of the alignment tomorrow evening. I can't wait. It's now got 18x9 fr500 wheels, BFG tires Cobra brakes, SS lines, FR pumpkin with 373s and trac loc, Bills poly pumpkin bushings, Dougs delrin bushings, all new OEM front suspension, A lot of custom front and diff body bracing. XR7 rear swaybar. Trimed the rear wheel cutouts for a little more clearance. senser lowered a small bit. I hope I don't have to roll the rear but may have too. Got 285s on the rear. I'm starting the Nav/audio next weekend going with a pioneer AVIC-3D head unit. Orion Amps May go to a 200 AMP ALT also. Moving the Batt to Trunk and adding a second Batt Optima yellow tops. Haven't fully decided on the subs. I don't want loud just very good sound.

My Kooks, with a 2 1/2" collector, barely clear the drivers floorboard, so I'd be worried about 3" collectors. I had to trim the insulation a bit as it was.

I have the SS Flaming River joints in stock (link in my signature), and can ship the next day.

Sound like it's going to be a great car, I look forward to more pics and your impressions of the Delrin Bushings.

Ya it looks like maybe your collector could be turned slightly to keep that top hole away from the floor?

I probably just got lucky, and mine were built on a Friday. :(

My first thought when I was installing them, was "Who was the idiot that put the flange on that way!".

I am running Kooks with 3" collectors, and 3" stainless all the way back without trimming and insulation. The exhaust tips out the back are a little lower than stock, but that's the price I pay. Unless you plan on going for a SC with substantial boost (10 Lbs+) 2.5 " is more than sufficient. Just my $.02
