What's the best fuel injector cleaner and how often should I run it. Sometimes I throw the $1 cleaner they sell at the gas station in my tank but does it do anything. What is the science behind the fuel injector cleaner and who makes the best one?

I belive if you use quality gas you should not need fuel injection cleaner, I believe some of them can actually cause damage to the newer fuel injectors like on the Mark VIII.

If you can find Chevron Techron, it's good. I also use SeaFoam. I treat the induction per the instructions and put the remainder in the gas tank.

Do a search on google for BG44K. That is some good stuff, that you only have to use every six months or so.

I use and recommend the Valvoline Complete Fuel System Cleaner. It costs about $9/bottle and is recommended for once/yr. use.
