Chicago Summer Meet. We want to make this a huge event with LOD members from all across the country participating. Which weekend in August works best for you?

Anytime after the 3rd works for me. However I would really like to bring the gf with me but she has to be at school by the 15th. So that only leaves the one weekend open for her. But whatever you decide, as long as its not the 1st weekend in Aug. I should be there. :)

Alright! I'll be there! I'm sure I'll still be around! Looks like the 2nd weekend is the popular choice, now, where do we want to meet? Along the Lakefront like previous meets?

I'm going to have to check a few things out before i vote. But i think i'm open for any of those weekends.

Along the lakefront sounds good for Saturday. We should skip the dragstrip this time, that was a long drive and it wasn't exactly optimum drag strip weather, being in August.

Glad to see you will still be around. We'll finalize the details in the very near future. The lakefront will definitely be the spot for Saturday.

Definitely Steve, I'v decided to stick around at least through August and will be there whichever weekend its on. Maybe I'll even be early. ;)

Any weekend but the 10th! That's my high school reunion and there's no way I'll be able to get back in time. I've been waiting for an official midwest meet, since I couldn't make Carlisle.

OK, seriously, don't everyone change your vote just for me, but I'm just sayin' I won't be able to make it.

If you make it the weekend of August 15 to the 17th, you can see one of the best air & water shows in the world without moving from the LOD spot at the lakefront. It might be crowded though.

I remember last year Steve (strapp) posted some cool pictures of the Blue Angels or something flying over his house that weekend.

I am a newbie. I live in the Detroit area.
Is the Chicago meet for one day only, about how many cars and where is lakeshore drive?, east of downtown?

The Chicago meet is the entire weekend. We can start Friday night. Saturday is the all day picnic by the lake, Saturday night is Chicago night life, and Sunday we did the drag racing thing. Come on out and join us.

There will be more details posted in the near future. Right now I'm trying to see what the interest is and what weekend works best for most.

I voted to go the weekend of the 8-10 I'm not working that weekend.
I'm trying to talk my gf to go with me, she's never been to anything like this before.

My reunion is on Friday the 9th, so I might be able to be there late on Saturday, but I'd PAY you guys to make it another weekend. Well, maybe not... but it was a thought. The Air and Water show would be cool, but there's no way we'd be able to even GET into Chicago by car on that weekend, let alone have a place to meet. So that weekend's out.

Damn. Can't even vote twice.

Oh crap! I thought the 9th was Friday. It Saturday! I guess that rules me out completely then.
