and it actually worked. A member from here that lives near me told me to sand them down, when I bought the new rims from him a few months ago. I finally got to it and man, what a difference. I started with 600 grit moved to 1500 grit then to 2000 grit and then polished them with some mothers lens restore waxy stuff and its like night and day. Its still not any brighter, which I had hoped for but it is nice to have clear lenses though. I will get some pics up asap, but lemme just tell you the lenses were almost completely clouded.

Did you clean them from the outside? Thats weird, I swear I can see that they're clouded from the INSIDE. Removing them looks like a PITA .

no from the outside, it actually worked. I too thought it was inside till the guy that sold me my rims said nope

I did that to mine, I could see a LITTLE better....it definately made it easier to see how bad the insides are. Someday I will open them up and fix the reflective part.

here are some i did on a 97, they were ridiculous, the car sat for over a year no one touched it, just sat in the florida sun and trashed the headlights, of course, i fixed that, and no i did not replace these, alot of wet sanding with my D.A, then by hand, then a high speed buff they looked brand new. both hid's were toast too so i changed them with new ones.

yea mine were as foggy as your first pics, maybe somewhat translucent but here is the finished product, sorry it is raining today but they are clear when not wet. I hand sanded these, no machine, it wasn't that hard except my hands got crampy cause I dont sand stuff regularly.

I just used, 600 grit then 1500 grit then 2000 grit sandpaper and it took me like 45 minutes do accomplish and then I polished them with some mothers lens restorer

the black tube is mqguires scratch-X but i have found the best thing ever to use, mother chrome polish, the paste kind that comes in the small round can, apply it by hand and buff it off immediatly, omg the stuff works awesome no kiddin.

This is great info. I really need to do this on my '94. I tried one of those kits a while back but it didn't have any sandpaper, just a few solvents and did nothing. I will try this.
One question - my left headlight is a bit rusty/corroded in the corner closet to the turn signal lens. I'm assuming there's seal of some kind that's shot. Any way to fix that in the process?
Would love to get these shinning again - have had many people say when riding in my car at night "dude are your lights on...?"

thanks!

I got my sandpaper at Pep Boys, as for the proper sealant, I will let someone else respond to that
