Cruising Last Night

My wife and I went to Myrtle Beach to a dance club last night from Wilmington NC. There is a long stretch of 4 lane 55mph road down #17 going to the MB. I reset my gas mileage meter and it recorded over 32 mpg with the cruise set at 63mph. There is about 30 minutes of 40and45 zones going into and out of MB. It averaged over 30mpg for the whole trip. Times have changed. I had a Vega in 74 that got 28 driving at a steady 55mph and a Pinto before that that would average 29.

Wow, that's great. I drive from Jax to Tampa every week. I always leave Tampa Monday morning around 3 or 4 to make it to work on time. The moral of the story is I leave in the morning so I can crank that beast up to around 110 to 135. I have a nice shot of the speedo at 138. Shhhhh...;) My gas mileage averages 24 MPG.
