Dash Kits

Has anyone had any dealings with Joshua Tree Wood Trim? I ordered a dash kit that was supposed to be an OEM factory match kit for my '98 Conti. The kit had to be made and when it came in, it was not even close to matching my factory wood. I contacted them and they said to take pictures of my original wood with the piece they sent. I did that very same day and emailed the pics to them. I have not heard from them yet. Granted, it has only been 24 hours but I was at least expecting an acknowledgement they received my email. I hope I have not wasted money on this.

RE: Dash Kits

A few years ago I purchased a kit from Joshua tree. It wasn't even close. This was for my 98 mark 8. It was supposed to be a factory match. I sent it back.

RE: Dash Kits

Well, I have sent 4 emails,. the first one with pictures of my Conti's wood trim and a piece of their's taped under it so they could see it is not even close to matching. Today, I called their support number and all I got was a recording telling me to email them. I was hoping for at least an acknowledgement of my email. I know their mail server got my email as I run my own mail servers and checked the logs to verify the mail was received by them. I guess I'll put the kit on Ebay and try to recover at least part of my money. I am also going to warn everybody I can about them on every forum I frequent. Not that they will care, but it'll make me feel better. :)

RE: Dash Kits

I guess what makes me so mad at myself was I decided to get the dash kit instead of a chip. It was the same amount of money and I felt pretty safe with ordering the dash kit since it was advertised as an "OEM Factory Match". My other option is to just keep the kit and when I get a newer Conti maybe it will match. I have looked at some newer Continentals and the wood appears to be a closer match to the kit.

'Ya, I was sure you'd hear from him. If I recall, I thought that he was pretty nice. I talked on the tele to him, prior to ordering. I think that you made the right choice! A wood kit will not only increase your car's performance, it will also cut down on fuel consumption, as I explained to my wife, just prior to ordering :)

RE: Dash Kits

They sent me all of their samples to check against my stock wood grain. None of them matched. I decided to go with a custom carbon fiber trim through exotic wood dash.

RE: Dash Kits

Got my sample from them on Saturday. It may not be a perfect match but it's so close I am going to take it. I'll send my kit back Monday and see what happens. So far they have been very cooperative. Makes me feel bad about having ill tendacies toward them. Though I will admit, a little more frequent communication on their part would have helped.

"Them" is not "them" ~

Them is a one-man show. Therefore, "them" is not as fast as "them" would be......IF "them" were REALLY..........."them" >>>> ;)

RE: Dash Kits

I have discovered through my 51 years that a lot of smaller comapnies are operated by people who are very knowledgeable about the product/service they provide but are very lacking in basic customer relation skills. I have learned in dealing with the public that a steady flow of cummunication and courtesy will go a long way towards customer satisfaction. Just keeping the customer informed on the progress makes them at least feel like their business is appreciated.

RE: Dash Kits

You are correct!!

BTW, I went & looked at the Joshua Wood site's picture at the bottom & viewed the 5 people. Obviously, the guy I delt with in 1999 when I did my 1998 Mark VIIIs dash has sold the business. He told me at the time that it was more than he could handle alone, and I guess he finaly had it & sold it. He never had even 1 helper, let alone 5.

IF IF IF the replacement is not good or too your approval, send back for a refund and go here:

They are OEMs for the car industry! They are the original manufacturer of the wood for Ford/Chrysler and others. They have the actual codes for the wood and can look it up and make it 100% perfect! Their's is what I installed in my new Town Car & you cannot tell where the factory's ended and the Sandy-installed begins!! Even the "feel" to the fingertips is the same. I am very happy with it....and I am anal-fussy!!! :)

OOops! I went to Sherwood, to check for you. NOTHING for Continential....then I went to http://www.autodash.com Nothing there, either.... Joshua is ** IT ** !
