i know you have heard of them, i have, like 2 years ago, they are big at the fairs now, my wife picked up the stuff to make them tonight. whatever make them i will try one, OMG these things are awesome i wouldnt sit down and eat 40 of them, but one or two with some cold milk, so awesome. if you havent tried it, all you need is a deep fryer, some pancake mix and some oreo's
if you are in the mood for a sweet donut like treat with a little creativity, give them a try.

That sounds terrible to me Jamie.:)

Just like those Oreo pizzas.

I'm not a big cookie fan.

I'll try one though, if you say it's good.:)

I rember the first time I heard about deep fried pickles. I thought they would be horrible, but I love them.:D

Ingredients

1 cup buttermilk pancake mix
3/4 cup ice water
1 quart vegetable oil
1 sleeve of Oreo cookies (14 each)
2 tablespoons confectioners sugar

Directions

1. Freeze cookies for 3 hours.

2. In a heavy-gauge 3-quart saucepot heat oil to 350 degrees F.

3. While oil is heating, set up a sheetpan with paper towels for draining.

4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl stir water into buttermilk pancake mix with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. As soon as batter is smooth, dip each cookie, one at a time, into batter and smooth batter, making a thin coat completely around the cookie. Place coated cookie carefully into hot oil. Repeat for each cookie. Fry on both sides, turning over once until golden brown.

5. Remove fried cookie from hot oil with metal tongs and drain on paper towels. Dust with confectioners sugar.

6. Let cool slightly (about 2 minutes) before serving.

Adding this to my list of things to eat when I hit 140lbs. I am dieting/weight lifting right now (down to 151 today from 170 2 months ago) but I have a running list of how to ruin 3-4 months of work :p.

I love these. I have had them at Kennywood Amusement park for the last several years. I have also had other items deepfried such as twinkies and different candybars. Maybe that is why I look like I do LOL!

Sounds like something I'd like to try. May not be the healthiest snack, but look at it this way. I'm too old to die young. :)

i had 2 of them and that was enough for me for a little while. i wouldnt eat them often. i saw alot of comments about serving them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, that sounds good too. and no im sure its not that healthy, but the way this world is going to hell in a hand basket, i could care less if my food is healthy. i dont eat stuff like this anyway, but she insisted i try it. i only eat once a day, and its supper, i usually go from 8 am to 8 pm with nothing but cigarettes and soda, so i'm already not healthy. who cares lol, have a deep fried oreo!!!

When I went to Scotland they deep fry every thing there.
I think I gained a pound just thinking about deep fried Oreos
