Difference between the VCRM and VCLM

Are these the same thing? With all the different info I am getting/seeing it has me confused. Any help is always appreciated.:confused:
 
Variable Control Relay Module
Variable Control Load Module

Basically the same. The Gen1(EEC-IV) uses the VCRM and the Gen2(OBD-II) uses the VCLM and are not directly interchangable but they both control basically the same functions.
