"Door Ajar" message

I swear my wifes M8 has a mind of its own. Car was awesome from a reliability standpoint until recently. Past few months, the suspension had problems, center console cup holders broke and now this thing with the "Door ajar" message popping up when both doors are indeed closed. Started happening a few months ago when I picked it up from the Ford dealer after they got done fixing the factory cruise recall. Since then it come and goes, recently the door ajar message has been staying on more and more. Sucks cause you cant use any of the other features and the lights inside the car stay on for awhile (according to the wife). What needs to be done to fix this?. Thanks.
 
Spray down the door switches with WD-40.

Search the site. I think that is the most common fix.
 
...and if it doesn't work, spray 'em AGAIN! Let them sit after closing/opening a few times. This WILL work....8 out of 10 times. Other two times, it's a bad switch in the door latch (the part IN the door).
 
Every Spring I have the same problem. A quick spritz with WD-40 and I'm good for another year.
