Door ajar

Ok, this happened a few months back and I used the wd-40 which worked then. now its back again, and the wd-40 doesn't help. heres the weird part, I only get this message when the passanger door is closed, the message goes away when that door is open. I think thats kinda weird, so how hard is it to change the switch.?

I had the same thing happen! It was very strange. I sprayed both door latchhes with WD-40 then I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes so everything reset and the erroneous message disappeared.

If that doesn't work then you'll simply have to drive around with the passenger door open! }>

I'd just take the door off and drive around like that.

Go to the above post about the guy's alarm going off and follow those instructions. If it happens only when the passenger side door is closed...and those instructions don't clean it up, then it is probably the passenger door switch- "sensor."

I'm kinda dumb, what latch are we talkinga bout? the button that controls the lights on the door jam? or on the door? doesn't really matter cause I sprayed both down and closed the door many of times and nothing has happened. still getting the message

It's the latch assembly- the mechanism on the door's jamb itself...open the door and slide your hand around from the handle..it is immediately there- where the latch on the body locks into. I would try it again. It is possible your door switch is bad.

I had the same problem,byt a couple times with wd-40 and its all better now.
