The gas is apparently ancient. Like Jeremi still had a mark 8 ancient. This procedure sounds complicated. We had better do this outside.I've done this multiple times.
I disconnect the filter behind the inner fender liner and connect a suitable hose to the fuel line coming from the tank. Remove the fuel pump relay and use a home made jumper wire to power the fuel pump at the relay socket. Refer to the EVTM for which terminals of the relay socket to jump across.
The car is complete. It runs but he has not driven it for a long time.I'd guess the concern is that the gas in the tank is old enough that you wouldn't want to subject the pump to what's left of it.
How complete is the car? the tank isn't too hard to remove once the exhaust is down and the driveshaft removed... I know to a normal person, that sounds intimidating. But we're not normal people.
