Factory Keyless entry code not working...

My Factory Keyless entry code does nothing....
It is clearly located on the passenger side Trunk hinge, same place it was on my 93 it is a 5 digit code.... at least on the tag.
Did not find a code behind the door in the trunk that covers the Air Ride on/off switch.
Is it a 5 digit code or 6?
Anyway to recover it elsewhere..?
So now what do I do? everything I read states the factory code works even if personal codes are used.....

It should be a 5 digit code. My Lincos have it on the trunk hinge and on the drivers door jamb. It is just 5 numbers on a plain white sticker, no mention is made of what it is. To the casual observer it looks like a production number of some sort. Hope this helps.

It's also on the module behind the interior door trim if my memory serves me right.

I think it's on the module which is located in the trunk next to the air ride control switch. At least on Gen 1's.

Something I've noticed is sometimes I have to lift the handle prior to entering the code - it's like the car goes to sleep and I have to wake it up by trying to open the locked door.
