fan quit

My fan quit. Last winter the fan stopped blowing making to hard to see with it fogging up. But then the next day or two it started working again. This has happened a few times. Well now it has not started working for 5 days. Any help as to what I need to do is appreciated. Is it the fan, a fuse etc..?

Its probably the connection to the fan motor itself. Open and empty glove box. Then push (i think) on a tab that prevents it from opening too far and the cable that opens it slowly instead of flopping open. That way it will open all the way down. In back you will see a connector with two wires. Remove and inspect it. If you can make repair, do so otherwise you may need a new connector end.

year doesnt matter.. they all use the same blower motor and the same issue applies to all the mark 8's.

Look behind your glovebox door... find the two wires that lead from the module TO the blower motor it's about a 9-10 inch lead of wires.

The plastic plugs often melt or in the case of the 97-98 cars a leak at the base of the windsheild will allow water to get into that plug causing all kinds of problems.

first gen or second gen it's usually just a need to replace that little wire lead.

thanks....i printed out what driller posted and will attempt the repair myself instead of calling my mechanic. This will be a first for me....thanks again

i did get around to trying to fix the problem. Found the 2 wires and just wiggled, pushed them towards where they go and the fan started working again....thanks

See, you ARE a mechanic! Just wiggled and crossed your fingers and you fixed it! Haha!
