Since I bout my mark about 2 years ago I've noticed that EVERY time I'm putting gas in to the car Its takes a long time to full up. Like if the car was full of gas the foam raises to the top as if the gas tank was full.
Is this a normal thing for the Mark?

Its hard to explain hope yall understand.....
:(

Do you mean the gas pump keep shutting off? I have had this problem with my old t bird, but it was only certain gas stations that did that. It might be something in the gas line, they may have a flame arrester screen in there or something.

Clogged line or clogged vent line.

I had a blazer that did this. When the fuel pump went and I dropped the tank, I discovered that the previous owner crimped the fuel fill vent line in the tank strap when installing the tank. I fixed that and it was good to go.

I had '95 T-Bird and had to find gas stations that I could park with the nose DOWN to fill it up. Worked great. But when filling it on the level, could only get just over 3/4's full (on the gauge).

I had problems of not being able to put 18 gallons in the tank. Later we found out my gas tank had come loose or was never reattached properly after an accident (thanks Jeremi and the Detroit guys for finding and fixing it!). Anyway, not sure if it relates to you in any way, but I've learned not to say "oh well" when it comes to anything not being right when I fill the tank.

That's what I was thinking that maybe it had some kind of screen.

I wasn't aware that it had a vent line aither.

I've not had a Mark VIII fuel tank out but some Fords I've worked on have a hose within a hose on the filler pipe. The 'vent' is actually between the two hoses.
