Finally playing with a Christmas Toy...

range of wi-fi, so 150-300 feet depending on how busy the channels are. The drone creates its own access point and you connect to it with you idevice. I use my iPad.

I've "lost" mine a couple different times. It's amazing how much wind there can be with a little elevation!

Beware, once you start flying with altitude, the wind can overpower it and/or you will lose signal. We had to knock it out of a neighbors tree once.

I've snapped some cool high elevation shots with the Drone camera using the iPad screen capture function. :D

Cool, someone else that has one. We will have to bring them to Carlisle and get that battle app haha. This was the first nice day I had a chance to take it outside. There wasn't much wind but it still got pushed a little bit. I was surprised how well it stabilized when I let go of the controls, even in a slight gust. It's a pretty cool toy for the money. Although it's a bit too big to use inside of most places. I need to get a few more batteries, I only have two. I've seen some other brand batter is with more capacity and less weight for about $10-$15, you just have to buy an connector adapter.

I haven't had mine outside yet this spring. I have a couple minor repairs to do. I have a cracked hull and I need to replace one bent rotor shaft. It's amazing overall how crash-worthy they are.

I'm not sure they would be a good idea at Carlisle with all the show cars around! :D

yea well those are expensive so I don't have one, at $299 its alittle much lol. How is it with the camera?

Pretty sweet! I see you're slowing spending all your house money.... :)

Do you control it by tilting the iPad or are there arrows?

It was a gift!! :)

Both. I have it set up so tilting controls how the drone tilts and my thumb motion on my right hand controls the height and rotation. One you mess with it a little bit it gets pretty intuitive.

I love the pic where it is caught in a tree! Man, you had that thing way up there, how high did you think you had it?

Yes, iPod touch too. People have made apps to make it work with android and other things but that isn't supported out of the box.

My only complaint is customer service. I had a bad motor out of the box and the store (brookstone) does not take any store returns. Parrot, the, manufacturer took over a month to send a new part.....

We have brookstone here too. That's unexceptable.

I figure easily over 100' (we have rigs that height so I kind of know how high 100' really is).

It needs to be real calm to get that height and still keep it under control. Usually late evening is best. It is supposed to automatically land if it gets out of range, but it drops pretty quick and chances are it's not going to be a pretty landing. :D

Night flights are pretty cool, but if you see the lights start flashing... you're done!

I still want to get a keychain spy-cam and attach it with velcro and get some in-flight videos.

Since brookstone usually only sells very basic rc stuff, I think they were concerned about a huge number of returns due to crashes etc. When you buy it they make you sign a thing saying you understand you can't return it. I tried since a motor was DOA but no dice.

Night flights......I bet I would crash lol. I only took mine to maybe 20-25 feet in subsequent flights that day. It was pretty calm but there were still some small gusts up a few feet. I mostly kept it about 5 feet high.

Good video quality?

Very good video quality, and sound. The wide angle lense is good too. When I get home I'll upload a video or you can look on YouTube and see if anyone has one up.
