OK so it's not a Lincoln event but I have to do some chest pounding anyway!
This weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) was the 40th Annual NY Custom Car Show, a major indoor event. One LODer stopped by to say hi, Matt "Squirrel" who spent some time visiting the show.
My El Camino took First in Class in Modified Pickup beating out a large number of video laden over chromed stratosphere high trucks AND our new club, the Asphalt Devils which I formed only a couple of weeks ago, took Best Club!! Of the seven cars in the club our results were:
1986 EL Camino (me) - First in Class
1950 F100 - First in Class
1962 Impala - First in Class
1962 T-Bird - First in Class
1995 Corvette - Second in Class
1932 Ford Street Rod - Second in Class
1934 Ford Street Rod - Third in Class
All in all a good show and we all had a good time. I'll post pictures in a couple of days, I have to go through what I have in the camera plus I'm waiting for some to be emailed to me.
The victory was a little bittersweet though because the last time I saw Alexander out and about before he began to slide downhill was at this show last year when he came by with his Father in Law to visit the show. I'll always remember what a good time he had that day and how it got his mind off his condition.
