on my way back from hockey, im sitting at a light, minding my own business, waiting for the arrow to turn green. i had someone next to me and i wanted to get a jump so i wouldnt have to wait behind them getting onto i75. light turns green and i jump and just happened to look in the rear view and notice a 1st gen right behind me.
once im on i75, i slow down to let them catch up. they get next to me and we're both checking out each others cars (he had a white 1st gen stock looking). he had 2 passengers with him and i had my usual load of equipment, both hockey and stereo. i roll down my window to mouth the words "nice car". before i get out the word "car", i hear his engine make the familiar roar. once i heard this, i instinctively kick the ish out of my pedal and we're both off. we sat neck and neck with me very very slowly inching my way ahead. i think his was bone stock since i started pulling away hard at 130.
further down the road i waited for him to catch up again, this time i had my OD button off. i dont think he was gonna race again, but i waited till i could see his taillights before i punched it. man what a difference having the button off made cuz i flew past like he was standing still. im still wondering if the race wouldve been as close had i done this in the 1st place. i wish there were more marks out there willing to take it to 130+++ with me.
