Early morning today, I decided to prove to many of you 2nd Gen Haters (mostly 1st Gen owners :) ) the power of a second Gen, and have pics to prove it as some of you unbelievers requested (also 1st Gen owners). Please keep in mind 88% humidity, with normal weight (didn’t take out anything) and see Fuel tank gauge picture below.
I only ran ONCE! Cops were EVERYWHERE; I know I can a bit lower then that. I'm still working on my launches.
My only mod is a Chip.

Where did you guys buy those G-techs, I want to test ma'boy?

Don't you other 2nd gens get any ideas! Us 1 gens will still tear you up!:)

Evilbay had them for $35 or $39, I can't remember. I think it was a company called GPS World up near Chicago. Fast shipment! Got mine in 2 days.

Yeah, where did you get your chip? I'm having chip war in my mind right now. I will only go with the 2 most talked about chips. I've actually considered buying both and dyno test them!

LOL! sorry guys, I was out all day today.

yeah, im very sure I can get into the 6.1-6.2 Range with less gas, esp. if someone lighter then me drove the car.

I have the Reinhr. chip, not all are the same as I discovered, I just recently bought another one, and it preformed much better then the one I used to have.

Nice times. Did you get any 1/4 mile times yet?

I REALLLLLY WANTED TOO!! But cops are like ants in my area, I MEAN EVERYWHERE!!! I have been trying to think of places where I can’t find them, but when I go, drive around that area to make sure its safe, another cop pulls out of small dirt roads and empty parking lots! I even had a Cop come out of an empty parking lot DURING my attempted 1/4 run!!!! That kinda scared me a bit.

OK, I'm glad this thread got moved to here! I never looked over here before. Good info! When I ran my 96, I ran all my runs in OD! After reading some of these posts, perhaps I'll run a better time. Hey what can I say, I'm a new guy to this forum! Now all I have to do is get my G-Tech back from my buddy that just bought a 94 Mark! He borrowed my car for 30 mins (turned out to be 4 nail biting hours)then he bought his Mark a couple of weeks later.

I'm not "hating" on your second gen by any means.

But my 95 base has a best 0-60's of 5.92 and 5.98
Both were dont at Lonestar Raceway, I use my beltronics FX-1 in conjuction with my timeslips.
It's cool to get a RWHP number with incremental date for each 10MPH during the run.
PLUS I like to compare the Beltronics 1/8th and 1/4 times to my timslips.
Usually the differnce between the Beltronics and my timeslip are
.01 in the 60 foot times
.02 in the 1/8th times
.03 in the 1/4 mile times


On those two passes my 60 foot times were 2.12

Usually on the street, my 0-60MPH is in the 5.1 range.

There's nothing like a good sticky lauch pad to drop your 0-60 times.

Nice times. I was just doing that to have some fun with the guys :)
