115750mi – I have owned the car since 2000 when it had 32k miles.
Price $5800. This price includes an added bonus of 2 brand new in the box factory HID low beam bulbs with the car. These spares will insure you won’t have to worry about HIDs for many years to come.
Options include LSC, Moonroof, 10CD player, Heated Seats, Home Link and Phone which all function normally.
This is “very” nice well maintained car that drives tight and stops straight. A rock solid car with no rattles or odd noises anywhere.
Body:
* Clean and straight.
* The hood, roof, trunk and rear bumper cover were professionally repainted about 3 years ago.
* The front bumper cover had been repainted about 5 years ago and does have some small stone chips and average sandblast effect but otherwise the paint is very nice.
* I installed factory mud flaps when I bought it so the rockers are very nice for a car of this mileage.
* To my knowledge this car was never wrecked.
* The undercarriage is rust free except for the evap emissions tray under the trunk that is prone to rust. These are easily and inexpensive to replace if you are concerned about it.
* The headlamp housings are like new and never refinished (sanded).
* This car is garage kept and has been stored every winter.
Interior:
* The interior is excellent top to bottom.
* I have the original LSC front floor mats that look like new because I never used them.
* Seat leather is very nice with no cracking or peeling including driver bolster which looks excellent.
Mechanical:
* Module8 suspension height controller equipped. I installed it with male/female quick connect plugs on wiring so it can be easily disconnected if desired.
* No performance mods. Car is stock and has never been to the track
* The 1-2 accumulator and Mercon V was done at 50k as well as a Ford factory transmission cooler and installation kit. This cooler looks like factory equipment.
* The rear shocks have been replaced with OEM Ford parts
* The blend door has been replaced with the reinforcement procedure done.
* Both upper controls arms replaced
* All plug boots replaced
* Rear tranny output shaft seal replaced
* O2 Sensor Driver side rear replaced.
* Throttle body removed and cleaned.
* Never any check air ride messages or malfunction. Stays up for 2 weeks driving it everyday with the air ride shut off. The strut towers and bags were cleaned and siliconed twice a year for the last 8 years. The compressor dryer desiccant was removed and regenerated a couple years ago.
* The A/C keeps me cool but seems to take awhile before it gets cold. I don’t think its as cool as it should be but not enough of a problem for me to have it checked.
* I get 21mpg using 87 octane back and forth to work rural driving. City driving is around 18 and highway is 26.5 under 75mph. 23.8 mpg 80-85mph.
Wheels/Tires
* The wheels are perfect with zero corrosion inside, zero curb rash and zero flaking. The center hubs have been anti-seized twice a year since I bought the wheels new in 2001
* The tires have tread left but will need replaced soon. I run this car with the suspension low and high and the tires have always worn evenly.
Review of known Mark VIII problem areas:
* The HIDs burn nice and blue
* Neon tail light is fine, never any problem
* No driveline vibration. Tested to 110mph
* Tilt telescopic steering, never any problem
* Power seat tracks never any problem (I have always had the easy-entry feature turned off as well as the reverse mirror down feature)
* 10CD player working good – Had some problem last year but it has been working fine so far this year. I use it everyday.
* Driver side Electro-chromatic mirror is excellent, never any problem
* Brakes stop smooth with no pulsating. Ford factory rotors and pads.
* Cup holders intact
* Heated Seats work great, never any problem
If I forgot anything please ask. I am firm on the price for now. If it does not sell I will drop the price. Reason for selling is simple. I now need an AWD car and do not have enough garage space to keep this plus another car. Practicality has finally got the best of me.
