front slams, inconsistent

Well I was going to attempt to do the headers this weekend but when I started to jack the passenger side up (air ride off) I heard a lot of air releasing from somewhere (and it wasn't me!). I sprayed some soapy water on the bag and surroundings but couldn't find the leak. I'm wondering if the black hose going into the air valve behind the sensor needs to be pushed in more. Is the orange ring around the hose suppose to be visible? The other thing I was thinking is that maybe I loosened a hose a while back when I removed the air silencer. Bag seems to be fine, couldn't see any cracks and the soapy water didn't make anything visible. By the time I got the car jacked up and the wheel off the air sound stopped and the bag was completely deflated. Any suggestions?

That's why you're supposed to shut off the air ride before you lift the vehicle. If you don't it'll let all the air out to try to get it back down to the normal height when you start jacking it up.

Dave,

Maybe I wrote it wrong but I thought I said "air ride off" in the post.

I must have missed that. Oops :)

I'm not sure what hose you're talking about, exactly, but i know that with the ones that go to the dryer, you can still see the orange ring when they're pushed all the way in. And if you spray soapy water on the hose, it'll bubble if it's leaking there.

If it was fine before you started jacking, and it deflated completely in the time it took you to jack up the car, it sounds like the air ride wasn't off. You'd have to have a pretty serious leak for it to drop that fast, and i don't know why it would start as soon as you lifted the car, and not be visible with the soapy water test. Maybe there's something wrong with the switch and it's not shutting off the air ride. When you turn the switch off, does it say "air ride off" in the car?

When i put the solenoids back in my front struts, i broke one of the o-rings. That caused a pretty quick leak, and i don't know if it would be noticeable with the soapy water test or not. But i don't know how that o-ring would go bad if you didn't have it out. That's one more thing to check.

I never actually looked but then again why would I have the car on when I'm jacking it up. I think I'm going to remove the plastic fender well so I can see all the hoses/components and try trouble shooting it this weekend.
