frustrated with front struts

Got my new struts yesterday, put them on without a problem. Lowered one end and then the other but the car was so low I couldnt' get the jack out from underneath so I turned the switch on and turned the car on. Immediately I get the check suspension. I then jacked the one end up and turned on the car. The compressor kicked on and aired up both. Two hours later and the car is slammed again to the point that I can't get the jack under the front end and the check suspension is coming on as soon as I turn the car on. So I jack the rear up and put another jack in the front. I released the rear and turned the car on again, the compressor turns on and inflates both struts. I turned the switch off and drove it into work this morning. I noticed that the car did drop when I got it up to speed (over 65mph) so when I got to work I turned the switch back on and let the car raise up and then turned the switch off again. I guess I'll wait to see if it drops when I get off of work.

RE: frustrated with front struts

You might have reinstalled one of the solenoids incorrectly. If I recall there's an O-ring that likes to bind or fall off.

Or you might have cracked or punctured one of the white air lines.

Probably a good idea to remove the solenoids and check them out - then be extra careful and put them back in.

I think the car wants a new owner since the 2 weeks it was at my house it didnt drop one inch

RE: frustrated with front struts

That's only because it wasn't driven and there was no weight in it.

Yeah, I was picking the dirt out that was caked up in the fender well while I was putting the struts on.

How could it drop at 65 when the switch was off??

RE: frustrated with front struts

I wondered the same thing! I'm assuming that's there still a leak somewhere and the time to ride to work was enough for the car to drop. Plus I would think that there would be additional down force helping the car to drop, not much, just an idea.
