FS: Former Pullied- Supercharged 97 [SOLD]

Mileage?

Mileage?

Hey dude, what kind of gas mileage to you get? Be honest. :)

Also....as of Jan 8, 2009...your picture link does not work. Any new pictures or links?

I think I put updated pics on there, but anyway here is a link to the picasa album with some detail pics.

As far as gas mileage, its really not bad at all. Pretty comparable to my 95 with a stock motor and the same 3.73 gear ratio. Normal drive to work which is mostly back roads and a decent amount of stop and go I would get about 16. On the drive to Carlisle cruising at 80 with the AC I averaged 25. If you are on the gas a lot and really pushing boost often it will become thirsty but with a light foot its really not much worse than a stock mark surprisingly.

Thats not too bad of mileage considering what it has. I guess the main question for a person in CA buying it would be...can it pass SMOG? :) I suppose if an 03/04 Cobra can than this should be relatively the same...if you find the right "guy" to do it. Not sure if I'd be "allowed" to buy your car, but I've been considering it depending on how long its still for sale for. Gotta buy a house first. :D I don't want to say I'm one of those "very interested" ones yet.

It will pass an obd scan just fine, all of the emissions equipment is turned off via tuning. The only issue would be that it does not have any cats. You can tell just by the smell. There is plenty of room to have cats put in though...

Does the tune have a "stock" program on it or do you have the tuner for it? Ya, the cats were a given. :) If the emissions of "tuned" out...it won't pass the plug test.

It has a multi position chip. I'm not sure if it has a stock program on it, I would have to check into it. The question is would it even run correctly due to the larger injectors, pro-m MAF and other variables.

Put a deposit down and I'll hold it for ya!!

Is it the SCT 4 bank? I had that one and they use position "4" for the stock tune.

Hahah...we'll see. :)

Yea I have one of those in my 95 as well, same things program 4 is stock. Program 1 is the tune, 2 is a slightly modified one, and three is a valet mode. I just haven't tried to run the 97 on anything but the position its on so I can't be sure. Send me a PM if you need any other info.........the car is just waiting to be driven!!

This car won't run without the tune. There is no stock program in the chip since there is not much stock anything in that car ;)

Add cats (easy), know the right guy (easy for you), and it will pass smog easy. There is no wiring changes from the OBD II stand point, so other than lack of EGR, AIR and cats it's passable. lol.

Peer pressure, peer pressure!! Get it! (Just register it some place else.)

You can actually register a car in VT without being a resident or owning land. There is sales tax but no excise tax. I looked into doing that in the past.....just didn't bother.

In Maryland, you may get away with not registering after a move from another state for about 3-6 months, then your neighbor turns you in and you MUST register your vehicle in the state you actually reside in...(MD) I believe the law says 3 months.

Yea MA law is 30 days.... I was going to register a new car I bought in VT to avoid the HUGE excise tax bill for the first few years. I know a guy in RI that did this without a problem. VT didn't require any proof of residency at all, hell he used his RI address. I decided it wasn't worth the risk of possibly paying sales tax twice and the penalty if caught.

MOTOR VEHICLES

Chapter 90: Section 26A. Licenses and learner’s permits; reporting changes of name and address

Section 26A. (a) A person in whose name a motor vehicle or trailer has been registered under the provisions of this chapter and a person to whom a learner’s permit or a license to operate motor vehicles has been granted by the registrar shall report a change of name, residential address or mailing address in writing to said registrar within 30 days after the date on which any such change was made. Said registrar may revoke or suspend the license or certificate of registration or learner’s permit of a person violating the provisions of this subsection.

(b) Said registrar may use reasonable sources of information regarding addresses including, but not limited to, municipal excise records, insurance company records and United States Post Office change of address records to update address information contained in registry records and such updated records shall constitute the official records of said registrar for purpose of giving any notice as provided in this chapter or for any other purpose. If the registrar obtains information from the department of revenue, he shall have access only to individuals’ names and addresses.

(c) Said registrar shall not be required to mail a notice pursuant to this chapter to more than one address; provided, however, that such address was obtained pursuant to subsection (a) or (b).

Thats why I didn't register in VT, MA law would bite me in the ass if a cop ever decided to pursue it when they pulled me over!

Why not just claim you live in both states?

I've lived in Mass, NH, and NY, and I never bothered changing anything from my Mass address.
