Well i had a lengthy talk with my buddy chad tonight, i met him through my good friend matt at my shop, chad helps matt out when he gets busy with his cylinder head shop, so i have known chad maybe 3 years now. he lives about a half hour away from me in hudson. he has been hinting to me about a paint job here and there, chad owns a 71 chevelle and right now its in a rolling chassis state. he just purchased a 468 big block for it, and tons of other parts, including trunk floors and floor pans, the body is solid, quarters were hung recently and semi finished. the rest of it chad says is very clean and in awesome shape, so, tonight he asked me again about paint, and i told him look, lets get serious, because i need to make some money and now is the time for me to work on it while its slow. so we talked for about an hour or so and it looks like i am going to have a 71 chevelle in the shop in the next week, possibly by this weekend. the best part is there is no drivetrain in it and no interior, just the frame, some wheels, body and glass. when i painted my buddies 93 dark cranberry mark, chad fell in love with the color, and it looks like this is the color the chevelle is going to be, good choice i think, this color would look killer on his chevelle. so, i'll keep a huge log of photo's on this one, because this is not going to be a 600 dollar respray, this is a huge deal for me, and probably going to be months long, he is even considering having us pull the body off and box in the entire frame because in the end its going to be around a 650hp street /strip car. i cant wait, but it will mean i probably wont be around here as much until im finished!!

Can't wait to see the finished product. My friend just got his 69 mach 1 back from thepaint shop black with silver stripes it looks killer.

i will be for sure, this is gonna mean alot so i need to keep all kinds of pics of this, once this car is finished alot of people are going to see it so if i have anything to do with it, i want the feedback all positive.

well here are some pics, i started on it yesterday for a little bit working on the new floor pans. overall it isnt really a bad car its a solid car. after i am done with it, the owner is putting a 470 cubic inch chevy big block in it, a turbo 350 or 400 he isnt sure, and an aerospace disc brake conversion. its gonna be a pretty sick car when its finished.

yes there is an S-10 emblem on the grille, my buddy jake stuck it there as a joke!

Not too shabby. I've never been a fan of that body style...I like the 66 Malibus better.

You have your work cut out for you, Jamie! Can't wait to see the finished product... good luck.

lol my buddy dave walked over to the shop today and looked at me and said what the hell did you get yourself into now lol. ahhh, its all good, if i didnt think i could do it i wouldnt have taken it in! it is gonna be a lengthy one though!

Wow, its gonna look good when done. Are you doing any kind of striping or anything, or will it be a solid color. Hopefully with all those flat body panels it'll be easier to color sand and buff than the Mark.
