GEN 1 or GEN 2

I am going to be purchasing a mark here soon and i want it to be fast and not too terribly expensive for modding, i want atlest 13s whats everyones opinion on what i should be looking for. basically which one is better for speed gen 1 or 2?

Better for speed would be the Gen1 by most opinions, but when it comes to modding for 13s, probably not a significant difference between the two generations. The Gen2 intake IMHO would be the biggest difference(besides the computer which will need chipped either way).

Short version would be gears, converter, intake(Gen2), exhaust and chip along with a slew of supporting mods.

would i be correct in saying most all t-bird and mustang mods will be relevant, as in i can use most parts. i have wrenched many a mustang and a few 4.6 t-birds

Absolutely, what doesn't work in practice works in theory. ;)

Eh, engine parts, no. Marks have DOHC motors, thunderchickens have SOHC motors, so most parts are not interchangeable. Chassis / suspensions are similar between the two, so a lot of thunderturd parts will fit on mark 8's.
