Go West Young Man!

Well folks... I'm gonna be out of touch for a while. The movers are coming on monday & tuesday... so wednesday morning, I'm pointing the Lincoln west. Yet another coast to coast jaunt... and there's no better car to make the trip in! "Midas" goes in tomorrow for some new shoes (still on factory originals). Shopped tires all over the place, & ended up ordering from Tire Rack. Got the Kumho KH11's in the stock size for $56 each. Not bad for a W-rated tire. Actually, it's pretty freaking amazing to get a set of 4 W-rated performance tires installed for less than $350! Got pretty good reviews from most of the buyers on Tire Rack as well.

Can't wait to get back to work. Being out of work for 9 months has totally sucked, both emotionally and financially. Am excited about starting a new job. Am less excited about what I'll have to spend for a decent house out there (EEK!).

I will be in the Santa Clarita/Valencia area, just north of L.A.
I may try to make it down to the big Ford show at Knott's Berry Farm on April 18th (I used to live in Huntington Beach, CA), but will have to see how things go.

Will be in temporary housing for up to 2 months, & will not have my computer (in storage, with everything else), so don't know WHEN I'll be able to check back in.

Take care y'all... & play nice!

RE: Go West Young Man!

Yep, have already set up a hotmail account so I can still receive email once my roadrunner account is cancelled. Will have to check in via the local library. Am going to try & break the habit of surfing the web at work (unless it's job-related).

Found out today that the movers don't have room in the moving van for both the Mustang and the Ranger, so the Ranger's gonna travel on an open transport... bummer. Am not too thrilled about this. Wanted to put all my tools & jackstands & stuff in the bed of the truck so I'd have them if I need to work on one of the vehicles before I get into a place permanently. Will have to squeeze what I can into the trunk of the Mustang (which isn't much!). Still don't know where I'm gonna park all of them, but guess I'll work that out when I get there. Talked to the apartment complex where I'll be staying & they said there was only one parking space allotted per unit. EEK! At least it has a garage... and the Lincoln's getting it! Ideally, I SHOULD put the mustang in the garage, as the cloth top makes it MUCH more susceptible to vandalism (I know from experience), but will have to chance it... can't bear to leave the Lincoln out! Ordered an el-cheapo cover off of "that auction site" for $35 (just in case). Should be here tommorow or monday (just in time).

Time to be a "left-coaster" again. Tho... the way things have gone the past few years, I wouldn't be surprised if I was back here again in a few years!
