I understand your supprise, as it hit me with the same "suddeness".
I dont know the details, but it was sudden and unexpected based on the email that I got from Kathy.
I'll forward the message to your email.
We just hung out with Lee last month at the track.
he'd made two trips down to support the Crazy VIII's.
He was definatley a "great man".

Lee has been ill lately and suffered from a bout of pnuemonia not too long ago. I do not know the full details but will surely miss him. His wife did say that his passing was very sudden and he did not suffer too long.
I got to meet Lee last year and have conversed with him just last week. We talked often and found him to be a very upstanding individual. He was a true American through and through. I will truly miss him and LOD has also suffered a loss as well.

I met Lee at Carlisle and instantly hit off. I remember how much he liked his color matched Lincoln Motorsport decal he had just got from Chris. He was a true enthusiast and a great guy, he will be missed.

Family in New Providence, Steve. Just West of Summit. Lee & I e-mailed back & forth many, many times. He was indeed a great guy, and we had many serious non-car talks, the last of which was on 1st December 2003 48 days ago. I will miss him ! We swapped family photos and spoke of religion (alot). He had converted to Judisum and it was very interesting to speak with him and hear his prospectives. He sent pictures of his daughter, in bridal gown, and I am very sad right now about this awful news.

I could not believe it when Steve told me. I cannot say enough good things about Lee. I met him at carlisle this last year and talked to him for hours on end. He struck me as a very upstanding individual, a true american, and a caring/loving father. Please send my condolences to his family.

Just so sad to hear this. Lee and I had discussed starting a chapter here not so long ago. Truely loved his Mark, loved his family and loved life. He will be missed. So, so missed.
