Got me a blown Mach 1!

Now this was a deal that came out of nowhere. Got this from my best friend. Calls me up from a Toyota dealership and says he's at the office and he traded in his Vortech supercharged '04 Mach 1. I flipped out, I'm like, you didn't come to me first???. I asked what they were offering him on trade and he said $15k plus tax incentive. I told him to tell them it was sold and he wasn't gonna trade, so he did and I rushed to the bank pulled out $16k and...........an hour later it was mine.

Ok, he's had this car since new and it now has 32k miles. He paid $30k for it new and dumped over $23k in upgrades including an Intercooled Vortech supercharger (almost $9k installed), every bolt on know to man, Borla/Bassani exhaust, gears, full race suspension ($6k in that alone), gears, etc. Just last week he installed a new race clutch and aluminum flywheel plus new tires. The fact that he was trading it in was bizzarre to say the least, especially since he just paid $2k for the clutch/flywheel and another $800 for tires. This car ran 11.6 @121 in the 1/4 mile BEFORE the aluminum flywheel and race clutch assembly. Should be a tenth or two quicker now. He's gonna write all the mods done, cause other than what I mentioned I dont even know. I know the list will read like a book though. I'm gonna need to get rid of this or my Cobra convertible. I may sell this as is (for a profit) or maybe pull the drivetrain and swap it out with the one in my Cobra vert (also has an '04 Mach motor). I'll see. Anyway car needs a bath cause of all the bad weather here but here's a few pics of the beast:

16k was pretty much a steal. WTF is wrong with that guy? what car did get from Crapyota?

This mach 1 looks great, love the wheels/color/mods

I got one too! Well, minus the transmission, interior, exterior, engine, frame, blower, body, seats, suspension, etc...

That was a steal though! Congrats!

It was the strangest thing. He loved that car, he dumped a crap load of money into it.........$3k just last week!. I dont get it. He does things on impulse and it has cost him a lot of $$$$. A few of his buds bought waverunners last week, so he went and bought a $10k waverunner. Then he needed a vechicle to tow the waverunner, so he went out and bought an '08 Toyota Tundra. Sweet truck (381hp) and the waverunner is awesome too but he did it on a whim and put like no thought in what he was getting himself into payment-wise. I was shocked but I'm glad I talked to him while he was at the dealership cause the car WAS traded in but I exchanged words with the manager at the dealership after he told me to come buy it from them @$18k. I told them that as long as my buddy didn't drive off with the Tundra, the contract was null and void. I told them I'm coming to pick the car up and paying the money to my friend and he can use that as the down payment instead of giving up the car. They didn't like me, but I got the car from him not them. This car pretty much has the same mods that off white Mark VIII on this site has.............and then some. Ask that owner how much this stuff costs. I told my friend that he will regret this once the novelty of the new waverunner wears off. Anyway I'm having fun with it, the power is amazing. Its got 492 RWHP. These cars go for this price in stock condition. I got pretty lucky.

That is a beautiful car...
one of my favorite mach 1 color schemes.. very stealthy!
Thats funny cause I was with him when he bought the car new. I fell in love with the Dark Shadow Gray and convinced him to get this color. he was gonna get a smurf blue one, lol. Strange that I ended up with it. :D

lol a truck and a boat at this time in the economy?! wow... not to mention he is trading in a highly modded car...

If he has got the money to throw at toys like that more power to him but damn that is some major cash he just dropped on toys.

Heh, check out these gauges!. I didn't even realize they were there during the day. I asked him about them and of course he dumped almost $1k to make 'em light up like this. Crazy!.

I think he was crazy for putting $1k into his instrument cluster! I guess he didn't know about the $140 SpeedHut guages...and the blue bulbs at autozone. :)

Yeah, what happened was the boost and fuel gauges weren't the same hue as the blue dash gauges and he went through hell trying to get them to match. Thats why it cost that much plus thats also including the fuel and boost gauges themselves. He paid much attention to detail and this is probably the most "over maintained" car in the world. I'm talking synthetic oil, tranny fluid, rear end fluid every 1k miles!.

Great looking car! I love the anniversary cobra wheels on a silver car. Great price too. Id buy it from you if I had any money. Then again If i had money i really wouldnt have it for long, just a garage full of cool cars like that. lol.

hey nick good luck with the gauges, speedhut gauges suck as far as quality, they look great till they short out. the purple mark i painted is on the 3rd set of speedhut gauges in less than a year. the first set the transformer blew tossing a mushroom cloud from behind the cluster, the second set 2 months later which speedhut sent free, the wire thats taped, yes taped, to the back of the EL Glow panel for the speedo burnt itself right off the panel. they use ribbon wire on the back of the gauge face and its only taped onto the contact points, so now the 3rd set is in so we'll see how long they last. they make cool looking gauges, but the workmanship sucks.

Well, these have been on there for over a year. I have the stock ones too. I have no problem putting stock ones back on. These are pretty cool but maybe a little too ricer for me anyway. This is what happens when my friend spends too much time on the internet looking at car parts. He buys 'em all.

Great looking car, and it looks stealthy but not overdone. I did wonder about the boobed horse, but it's still cool.
