Great New Lights, Lost Something Else

Hello LOD, I need help in figuring out how to get my interior lights, remote fob, and key pad working again on my 93 M8. I had a friend who hooks up radios, amps and other things professional put in an amp, subs and lights for the front(you're know so I can see the road alittle bit better). When he put the power back on the battery, the alarm stop working. The light in the car still flashs alarm but the fob does not work, the interior lights do not work and the keypad does not work. I tried reprogramming the fobs again but that special gray plug behind the glove component does not do anything. Everything else in the car is working fine, the system sounds good, and I can see at night but I now I have to manually lock the doors. No fun... Any suggestions. The guy told me I have to put in a code to realarm the system. Is that true? Let me know if I'm not completely assed out.

Just an update on the non-working remote, interior lights and keypad. This morning I woke up to a dead battery, once I got a jump all was well in LM8 land. The remote, interior lights and keypad were all working. I guess the system needed several days to get it's act together. I hope it does happen again. Knock on LM8 interior wood.

Welcome to the board Rafael!

It looks like your problems where related to a dying battery which may have been caused by thhe additional drain of your new sound system. When the battery goes on these cars all sorts of weird things can happen. I'd recommend you get a new battery and check to be sure the alternator is functioning properly.

Thank you. I will check that and will look into putting a new battery in. With all I read on the LOD message board I would not want to get caught with a dead battery and have to push my car home.LOL
