Greetings from de deutschland

lol @ trixie

I always wanted to go to Germany, how is it? Lets see pics!

Morgen, Herr Beerdog!

What are you doing in Alsdorf? How is the town? I've spent some time in Köln, which is not far away, and home to some of the most beautiful architecture in the country. How is the weather?

I tried to find you a nice Ratskeller, but it appears you have to go to Aachen to find one. (at least on Google, anyway)

Ein Schwarzbier, bitte. Mmmm

edit: So Trixie, that party at your place is on *for sure* now then, eh?

Haha, I'm so upset I didn't get to go - I took German as my foreign language in HS & college.

So yes, party at my house this week, even though Hubby gets to have the better beer.

I had a friend headed your way a couple days ago. I tried to bribe him into doing another beer delivery, but the timing didn't work out. I'm still working on that.

Did you ever try one of those Surly beers? if you haven't, now is the time.

I will be prowling the street looking for a good ratskeller.

Out here on a business trip. Have not seen anything yet except the country side. Took a direct flight at 4:50PM and arrived 8:30am local time (2-3am chicago time) did not sleep wink on the plane. Then went directly to the office untill 4:30pm. I was so tired I almost fell asleep standing up. Truthfully, I dozed and caught myself a split second before I fell down. We just went back to the hotel. I am actually staying at the Holiday Inn in Aachen. We will probably hit the town tomorrow night.

Gute Nacht! Bis später!

When I worked for AB at the Newark brewery we would have TGIF at the plant's rathskeller, free beer and back then they had eagle snacks :D

The only cameraI have is my phone and the battery broke yesterday. It is back in service. The only good picture so far would have been of the "Gay Sex Discount" place. At least that is what was on the sign.

And you didn't go in to make sure the sign was correct?

he isn't posting, because all of the letters are backwards in the photo. :D

There would be a strike called at some of the factories in lower Germany if the pulled the Beer Machines out of the plant. Very common to see a bottle of suds on the work bench or desk. The Opel plant had a coffee wagon come in at break time and the guys would line up with their tankards to get filled with Beer.

What do the Germans think of this spilt beer

Evacuated employees stand on rooftops near toppled tanks at a brewery in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan.

Just got home. Was not able to post pics, but here are a few. We were in the Aachen town center. This building ws built in 700 and is still widely used. There is a Rathskeller in the basement but we did not go to it. It was a very cool shopping and university area arround this bulding. My friends said it is very happening in the summer. The status behind the gate are gargoyles that surround the building base. The othr picture is the cathedral that was added a few centuries later.
