Hawk L/M in Oak Lawn is having a Car show this Saturday (9/13) from 10:00 am to 2:00pm. 50 plus cars will be on display. For more info you can call Doug Dykema at 708-952-5304.

Trixie provided the info and I'm following up. I just talked to Doug at the number she provided, 708-952-5302, and he is taking registrations. You need to be registered to be in the show. Its a Lincoln only show.....
I told him I'm with LOD, which he hadn't heard of, but I told him I wanted to get a couple of people out there from my group. Call Doug if you want to be in it! He sounds like a good guy. See you there. Oh, he needs name, address, phone, and make of car to make windshield cards.

Hawk L/M is located at:

10201 South Cicero Avenue
Oak Lawn, IL 60453

OK, I just registered. :)

Mark Darrah actually told me about this. Thanks for following up Manuel. Now tell me when I'm going to have time to do laundry this weekend. ;-)

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

Laundry? Come'on...... Wait, Brad said he would take care of that while you are out here and he asks if you prefer April Fresh or Clothesline Clean Downy. :)

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

I'm heading up there so a bit. Brad hope you could make it down. See ya guys up there.

I have to work at 5. what time do you think we will get out of there does it cost anything to be in the show.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

No fee to enter. Give the guy a call, but I assume we'd be out at 2.

He said the show will happen rain or shine.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

Jon do you want to all meet you at your house. me and manual then go down to the show. I cant get to doug phones busy

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

Oh that was such a good time! Unfortunately, it appears that this was done by the LCOC, so we kinda crashed their party so to speak. They hadn't heard of us, but now they have. I joined their club, too.

Everyone there was so nice and friendly, people really love the Mark VIII's and the cars were just incredible! I've never seen so many tail fins and suicide doors in one place.... :)

Manuel got pics, there was even a Pantera there. It was tiny compared to all the big boaty Lincolns.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

The Show was off the HOOK ! LOL.
It was nice to see all those Marks I - VIII's.
Beautiful Cars. and Nothing but chrome gleaming in your eyes. :)
Some Marauders were also in Attendance. Very Nice Rides I may add.
All Together it was a fun time.
Another one for the Midwest ! SCORE

It was fun, good to see you all again. As Sharon said, we sort of crashed it, but they were nice about it. They even gave nice parting gifts. I'll put pictures up as soon as I can, there were some amazing cars there including my favorite, the Mark II.
I'll put them up Tuesday morning with a link.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

Great pics! Always loved the panteras, it looked a little rough though. Anyone find out who the owners to the Marks out back were?

David O'Donnell
'97 Mark VIII LSC "Maxine II" (RIP Maxine I, 5-16-03)
'91 Mark VII BB "Monica"
'67 Thunderbird "Molly"

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

Thanks Dave. The Pantera was solid, but not as clean as some of the others. Still it was nice to see.
The green one looked like it was a trade in or some one that worked there, it was way in the back and had no plates on it. Also had a dent and smashed driverside front headlight that I left out so it looked nicer. haha
The graphite one we didn't get an owner either. Its very clean with the light gray interior. Nice car.

We did turn on a few people to LOD. I hope they stop by and take a look.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

This is MY car, but my G-d WHAT did they do to it? It look horrific! A visit from the "vinyl-monester" perhaps? 9" - wide chrome rocker panels? Chrome wheel archs, (that don't come down far enough to meet the side moulding!) ~ It's a shame when they put all this crap on a luxury car. The imports sure don't do it, and neither should domestics. No better than a kid's ricer, just bigger.

The rest of the cars were nice. That white converttible in the 1st 3 pictures is a 1963 Mercury Comet S-22 - a VERY rare piece indeed. Did you spot the car NEXT to the Pantera?? The white one ?? Anybody know what it is ??

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

I believe the white one next to the Pantera was a Mercury, but I could be mistaken.

RE: Hawk Lincoln Mercury in Chicago

No, you're correct, Trixie! :) Going a little further....it's a Mercury Comet 2-Door Sedan.... 1967 or 8 with a 428 Super Cobra Jet V-8 - one of a handfull made!! I believe that 4 remain. I darn near lost my shorts when I saw that. It can smoke that Pantera next to it!
