headers

After seeing Sharon's exhaust I have the itch to put mine together! So any tips on putting the Kooks headers in? Besides lots of alcohol and time! I'm going to attempt it this weekend but I really don't anticipate having it done.

RE: headers

Support the engine, drop the k-member, unbolt old, bolt in new, reinstall k-member, and enjoy!

Make sure you use new exhaust manifold gaskets. And make sure you have help, you need someone to help you get that k-member out without it falling on your head.

RE: headers

Percy's makes a dead soft alumnium manifold gasket, I believe they call it seal-4-good. This may be a worthwhile investment. I have used these gaskets on my bronco and they really do work. I hate changing exhaust gaskets, and on the mark I would really hate it. Also use Stage 8 locking header bolts.

RE: headers

I used reuglar 6 point when I took it off first time 4 years ago. Since then it's been off 3 times - no problems whatsoever.

RE: headers

I used the special socket, but i borrowed it. My friend Dave has all the cool tools.
