My '98 has one HID bulb that is out. Instead of paying an obscene amount of money on 1 used bulb, I decided to buy a conversion kit from ebay that will enable me to use newer style bulbs which are cheaper and work better. Here's the kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Linc...8QQihZ016QQcategoryZ36476QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem . Anyone install this kit and has any advice?. I figure I could sell my 1 working bulb plus the 2 factory ballasts and recover at least half the money I spent for the conversion.

You will probably have no trouble selling the factory bulb, but the ballast are pretty solid. I have read very few instances of those failing

I forget who is making these kits, I think he is on LvC or something. He has sold a few and the purchasers have been happy.

I too have bought this kit today and i will report with pics before and after of the whole thing.
Been over a week and I still have not recieved them. Maybe for the best, since you are gonna be posting pics I might as well wait to put them on. :D

Dude I bought the same ones from the same guy and it takes him FOREVER to ship them, dont expect them in any less than 3 weeks, I even emailed him and asked and he said he had to make up a few sets. All the while he knew I needed them. I had emailed him for weeks prior telling him that I wanted a set and he allegedly emailed me when he had them ready. Anyway, they go together nicely and are pretty easy to do. I recommend taking the bottom shield off the undercarriage and taking the wires with the T-taps he'll send and just slice the wires in, cause the T-taps SUCK! I have issues with it all the time and I also note that the lights don't always turn on, you have to switch it on and off, especially if you leave it in auto mode. Good luck, they are nice lights overall for a good price and I did the same thing, I ebayed the working bulb and made almost $200.

Edit: Oh btw- he won't leave you feedback first, although you paid right away, so I recommend not leaving him any cause he uses feedback to retaliate. I hate ebayers like that. I pay first I get feedback first.

Egh...I usually wait until I get the item before I leave any feedback, and if they leave it for me great if not, as long as I'm happy with the item I could care less what a sellers opinion of me is.

Like Mike said, they should leave you feedback stating you made a fast payment, or something like that, but instead this chump waits until you complain, and exploits the system to leave you negative feedback. Lame.

I bought the same set from that seller and had good luck on shipping but haven't had time to install yet. I'll be intersted to know how they work for you.

If I sold something I would wait before the buyer leaves feedback. That is how you do it. Because a lot of people can come back and complain about something that wasn't true about the product you have shipped.

but then you just enable sellers to have good feedback ratios and not realistic for the next customers. say you complain that he took so long to mail it but you left positive saying you are glad cause you got it, the next guy won't know and not only that I bet he would leave you a negative or neutral and thats like what J said, exploiting the system

read what I said in my post on page 1 about the lights, its factual

Well its always been a Buyer Beware world, so I usually do some reseach and check all of the guys feedback, both buying and selling, to see if there are issues.

Thats what I'm telling you, thats what we do here at these forums. This is a buyer beware warning, like I said I emailed the guy for weeks before I made the purchase and he knew I wanted it, I told him I needed it right away.

Yeah, the SELLER needs to leave feedback WHEN he sells the item and its paid for...his part of the deal is DONE. If the buyer gets the item 3 months later, or NEVER, or the Seller won't reply by email, or whatever the case, he needs to be able to leave TRUTHFULL feedback without the fear of having the seller leave negative because he didn't like his recieved feedback. Thats NOT how its supposed to work.

Also....if the buyer recieved a POS product, he can leave Neutral/Negative feedback, this than gives the Seller the opportunity to leave a "responce" feedback to his Negative Feedback.

For example I bought an item and it took 2 months to get it, and after numerous attempts to contact the seller I heard nothing back. I will leave this feedback...

"Took 2 months to recieve item, Seller did NOT respond to numerous emails" NEGATIVE Feedback.

He now can reply to his negative(which will have NO affect on your feedback rating) and it will show up in his(the seller) feedback comments.

"My mom died, sorry I didn't reply" or "screw the buyer he called me a homo" haha

He can say whatever he wants, but if the system is used properly, the buyer does NOT get affected buy leaving a negative feedback because the seller should have already left you positive feedback for paying fast, or whatever.

Exploting.

Ofcourse you have buyers exploiting the system too, buy leaving dumb ass negative feedback because he is an idiot. I've seen some negatives like "shipping took 7 days, emailed on sixth day with no reply, got it next day, slow shipping" "part did not fit"(sellers feedback was that 98 civic parts won't fit a 99 civic, haha). So...I can see why sellers wait to leave feedback because they are relying on buyers to be sensible and if they have a problem to email the seller, instead of leaving a homo feedback.

Its the 3rd week and I still dont have them. I've been emailing him and he keeps saying I'll have a tracking number soon and that tracking number never comes. This really sucks.

well i got them after two weeks, and the install went pretty easy. the hardest part of the whole thing was taking the old ballasts out. the lights are really good. work great and seem to be brighter. nobody complaining on the road, ( no flashing lights) so i guess they ok. the plexiglass thing is ridiculously cheap. any one can make it, but i paid 314 for it.and the ballasts. alal in all i like it but now they got a halogen replacement kit, great should have saved my money. but still looking for a good 96-98 cobra intake??
